The Cala Galdana horseshoe bay and super smooth sandy beach with a calm sea.
Cala Galdana has got to be one of the most picturesque resorts on the island. It's a great place to stay and we love the beach, the restaurants, the friendliness and the laid-back environment.
The perfect holiday break for families and couples alike and we have stay so many times.
It is so peaceful with just the right amount of things going on along with places to eat, drink and get some groceries from the supermarkets.
There are many Villas set on the hillside looking down to the beach and the bay. The only large high-rise buildings/complexes are situated on the main beachfront. They are hotels, Minura Cala Galdana & Apartamentos d'Aljandar, Artiem Audax and the Meliá Cala Galdana.
On every visit, we always marvel at some of the spectacular Villas that have the most perfect view across the beach and the sea. Many are perched on the cliff tops on the south side of the Cala Galdana Bay. We have our eye on one such villa with Villa Plus, but it is expensive but worth every penny. Maybe one day!

Finding a taxi in Cala Galdana
The Cala Galdana taxi rank is along the main street near to the restaurants and marina
There is a taxi rank for 2 cars on the Passatge Riu near the boats and restaurants and when I have passed the rank, there has always been a taxi there available for hire.
Supermarkets
There are 5 supermarkets in and around the main seafront area where you can buy most of your essentials if staying in a villa or apartment.
There is one going up the one-way street hill, Costa Mirador, near the Audax Supermercat Serpentona, and another further up in the Flora Mar buildings. Supermercat
We also used the Ci Fe Supermercado 2000, situated on the beach strip of restaurants near Galdana Gardens. UK newspapers can be purchased there (Picture from Google Maps) and one on the road out of Cala Galdana - Supermarket Cala Mitjana
There is another one on the same street just around the corner in Galdana Gardens - Supermarket Algendar which gets an excellent rating from Google

Some small-market trinket shops dotted about. I always buy myself a nice tea towel!
Several supermarkets where you can buy your groceries plus some fresh bread or croissants for your early morning breakfast or an extra snack.
Cala Galdana Pharmacy
There is a pharmacy at Paseo Ríu, 7 open into the early evening and they are very helpful for any medical advice.

Just down the coast going east, is the lovely resort of Santo Tomas - We had a great time there staying with Villaplus.
Cala Galdana ATM Machines
You will find ATM Machine by the Tobogán, on the beach strip of restaurants and shops.
Also new for this year, there is a new one up by bar La Cala on the main road in as you start to drop down into the resort.
Another handy one by the car rental place which is situated under the Cala Galdana hotel apartments
The Lighthouse bar also has a cash dispenser.
Here is a tip: ATM Machines in Cala Galdana, have different charges, just keep an eye on the exchange rate.
