Santo Tomàs of Es Migjorn Gran, or more commonly know as Santo Tomás, is a small town on the South Coast of Menorca.
Santo Tomas
Santo Tomas is situated in the municipality of es Migjorn Gran. It is just a stone's throw away from both Cala Galdana and Son Bou. Having said that, this holiday destination is a Menorca Resort of its own and is unique.
It has a very relaxing feel to the town, which feels more in the way of a strip. Hotels clustered along the seafront with apartments and villas scattered inland and up the hillside. It is ideal for couples and young families and has lots of entertainment at hotels and bars. There is plenty of activities for the kids too.
To get to the resort, you take the main Me-1 road, to get to the Me-16 road to Santo Tomas. The final road in Santo Tomas is a bit twisty and ends up quite tight on the bends surrounded by pine trees on each side of the road. This route is not too busy so it is not a bad drive at all.
Up and down the main road of the town are some supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Look out for the Cafeteria Halley that serves an incredible full English Breakfast for less than 20 Euros. Super coffee, is one of the best in Santo Tomas. Find it at Lugar Urbanització Santo Tomás, 1 Lugar, 07749 Santo Tomás, Menorca, Islas Baleares.
There is car hire, a good selection of hotels, supermarkets and some nice eateries. If you need some cash, there are a couple of ATM machines near the centre on the main street. It is all quite straight forward to navigate with a parallel street running inland. If you need a taxi in the evenings, there is a small taxi rank in the main street.
Santo Tomas Resort Guide
In Santo Tomas, you will find a good stretch of a lovely sandy beach with two bars at each end. Malibu Bar and Restaurant at the western side of the shoreline is a delight. We particularly loved having our lunch there in the shade looking out onto the beach and sea. Good value and friendly staff situated at a fabulous location.
Santo Tomas is a compact resort, comprising of manly 6 larger hotels along with smaller hotel, apartments and villas. There are sand dunes and a pathway leading right the way along the beach. Perfect for an evenings stroll after your evening meal. When the weather is good, and it was most of the time we were there, you get perfect sunsets looking over to Majorca.
There are plenty of places to park with a car park at both ends of the beach and also one at the Commercial Centre called Pàrquing Sant Tomàs midway between the two. Just to the side of this Car Park is a Children's Play area. Perfect for families.
There are several Supermarkets on the main street inland from the beach. Supermercado Barvi is just before the Santo Tomas Hotel situated on the ground floor in an apartment block along with some gift shops and the BAR-HELADERIA where we grabbed a bite to eat one evening. Cheap and Cheerful would be the best way to describe it and popular.

Villa Santo Grande -Villaplus
We have stayed at Villa plus Villa Santo Grande which was fabulous. In fact, this Villa was so big, (it can sleep 10) was too big for just the two of us!!
If you have a large family or maybe taking the grandchildren as well as the Children, this place is ideal. Very central inland and within 5 to 10 minutes walk of the whole of Santo Tomas.
More details can be found on the Villa plus site about Villa Santo Grande
